ACFC Seeking New Members

Recruiting New Members for ACFC

The Andrews Community Forest Committee is seeking a few new members to help guide the future of one of Richmond’s most remarkable public resources.

As the Committee completes its update of the Andrews Community Forest Management Plan and looks ahead to implementing it, we are seeking to fill several vacancies and welcome new voices and perspectives.

The Andrews Community Forest supports recreation, wildlife habitat, forestry and agriculture, education, and quiet enjoyment of nature. We are looking for people who care about the long-term stewardship of the forest and who are interested in balancing these many uses while protecting the forest’s ecological integrity.

Committee members help shape recreational opportunities and trail improvements, support educational programs and partnerships, participate in habitat restoration and biodiversity initiatives, address invasive species, and guide ecological forestry and agricultural stewardship.

Updating the management plan is only one part of the Committee’s work. Service on the Committee offers the opportunity to help ensure that the Andrews Community Forest remains a healthy, resilient, and welcoming resource for future generations.

If you have ever considered becoming more involved with the Andrews Community Forest—or know someone who might be interested—we would be happy to talk with you.
