Updates on Tilden Ave., Bridge St., Huntington Rd., and Cochran Rd Waterline Replacement Project
Update as of 6/5/26
This spring and summer the Town of Richmond is replacing waterlines on Tilden Ave., Bridge St. (from the bridge to the intersection with Cochran Rd.), and Cochran Rd. (from the intersection with Bridge St. to the cemetery). At their June 1, 2026 meeting, the Water and Sewer Commission added a replacement of the waterline on Huntington Rd. (from the intersection with Bridge St. to the Stone Corral) to the project.
The work will start on Tilden Ave., and then move to Bridge St., and Cochran Rd., and then to Huntington Rd. See the project schedule for more details (note, the schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances). Work is not expected to start on Bridge St. until after school is out for the summer, which will help avoid working during the busy school day morning commute.
We will keep the public informed about the progress of the job and any expected traffic interruptions.
Planned work for the week of June 8 - 12.
- Work will generally be 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Excavation and pipe installation on Tilden Ave.
- The roadway may be reduced to one lane by flaggers while initial test pits and investigations are completed.
- No full road closures of more than 5 minutes are expected.
- Construction vehicles will be using Millet St. and Baker St. for access.
- The work and work schedule are subject to change due to weather and other unexpected delays.
