The Town of Richmond is removing an old oak tree at Volunteers Green. The wood available for this lottery has been blocked up and stacked at the Volunteers Green (see picture or .pdf).
You must be a Richmond Resident to be eligible for the lottery, one entry per household.
Interested parties can sign up for the lottery by submitting your first/last name, phone number, street address and email using either the online form (https://forms.office.com/r/iTZyAUDahu), by emailing dwardwell@richmondvt.gov, or by dropping off a “Wood Lottery” letter request at the Town Clerk’s Office by 1 PM on Aug 4, 2025.
Names will be randomly drawn on Aug 4, 2025 at 1 PM at Town Center 3rd Floor Conf Rm A or via Zoom. Topic: Wood Lottery July 2025
Time: Aug 4, 2025 1 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
The winners of the lottery will be notified where the location of the tree is and have seven days to remove the trees. If the wood is not picked up within seven days, the Town will notify the initial winner that another name will be drawn for that location.
