Richmond Trails Committee
8/18/2026
Present: Molly Dugan, Ben Feinson, John Rankin, Hannah 
Harrington, Alison Aiken, Trum Rittling and Jean Bressor- Approve the minutes from May - Jean moved it, Trum 
seconded. Minutes approved.- Amy Welch has stepped down from the committee due to a 
year-long sabbatical. We are currently down two committee 
members. Hannah will post something on FPF looking for 
members.- Legal Trail #2 - a trail off of Dugway Road. Owners are 
asking to have the trail be the driveway for the homes to be 
built there. The second question is should the town give up the 
trail permanently. Selectboard will discuss again at their 
meeting the day after Labor Day. Several members stated 
their desire to walk the trail before the next Selectboard 
meeting. Committee members can attend and share feedback. 
- Maps - update the map and the town website - where does 
the file exist?  Hannah will look into.
Start with the Rivershore Trail; name sections and possibly 
bridges, update parking. Link it so it is interactive.  Hannah 
will research mapping options.
Put up signage that reminds people that leaving a dent with 
tires/shoes means that you should not be accessing that trail 
for more trail etiquette education.- The Selectboard approved the Johnnie Brook Trail 
reimbursement. If we do any maintenance on a town owned 
Class 4 road, we need permission from the Selectboard.
We can put together an annual maintenance plan to be 
approved by the Selectboard.
Create a small project/big project plan for these trails.  This 
includes Johnnie Brook Trail, Old Jericho Road trail and 
Snipe Ireland trail. Alison noted Wright Preston emailed 
regarding improvements to Snipe Ireland trail.  Committee 
members will walk trail and identify trail needs.  Alison will 
respond to Wright.
