Trails Committee Meeting 07-29-2026
Trail Committee members present:  Alison Aiken, John Rankin, 
Trum Rittling, Ben Feinstein, Hannah Harrington
Public Comment:  No public present
Ethics Training:  Reminder to complete annual update for ethics 
training.  Ben noted the links online on the Town website.
Update on request for reimbursement for Culvert repair (Alison/
Hannah):  For us to use any funds we need to initially check with 
Town Manager before spending.  For any work on Class 4 roads 
(Johnnie Brook Trail) we need to ask the Selectboard.  Hannah 
went to Selectbaord meeting on Monday to retroactively ask 
permission regarding the culvert repair.  Town is going to ask Pete 
Gosselin to look at the culvert repair and Trails does not need to 
do anything at this time. Can follow up with Josh to confirm the 
town will send check, if approved, to Cross Vermont. 
RMT grant for accessible trails (Ben):  Gunnar Nurme is applying 
for a grant with RMT with gear company Janji for $10,000 for 
running clubs.  Asking for increased signage and trail 
maintenance to make trails more accessible.  What multi-use 
trails could use more signage?  Are we interested?  In general if 
RRC/RMT were awarded money we could use it for better maps 
and signage along Rivershore trail, better trail related signage at 
Volunteer Green, Overockers, and the new Land Trust parking lot.
Trail trimming/mowing needs:  Molly Dugan trimmed part of the 
Rivershore trail and noted it needs trimming again. Ben would like 
Alison or Hannah to take over the email list for trimming.  John 
noted he would be interested in learning to use equipment and 
will connect with Molly.  
No Quorum so minutes from May meeting were not approved
