Update as of 6:15pm, 12/25/25

On the afternoon of Thursday, December 25, a vehicle collided with the fire hydrant at the corner of Jericho Rd. and Burnett Ct., resulting in a major break in the water line that services the hydrant.

The Water Resources Department has shut off the valve for the service line to the hydrant. This has stopped water flow to the hydrant and stopped the leak.

Water service was not interrupted to any customers.

Water pressure was maintained throughout the event. There is NO boil water notice. Residents using Richmond Water Services may continue to use water normally.

The water tank is currently re-filling.

The Water Resources Department will make an emergency repair to the hydrant’s water service line as soon as possible.

The Highway Department is treating the road surfaces that were affected by the water.
