Richmond Police Department 2026 Special Olympics Torch Run Invitation

This year the Richmond Police Department will be running the Flame of Hope from the Round Church to School St to bring awareness to Special Olympics Vermont. The torch run will take place on Thursday, June 4th, 2026 at 2:00 pm. The run is planned to conclude at the Richmond Schools at 2:15 pm. Students from both schools will have the opportunity to cheer on the runners and walk the Flame of Hope around the school campus. 

Special Olympics Vermont supports for than 2900 athletes across Vermont. You can also support the athletes by spreading the word and donating to Special Olympics at the link below.

The run is open to everyone. Anyone wishing to run can join the team at the Round Church.

From June 1–5, officers, Unified athletes, and communities across Vermont will carry the Flame of Hope across the state, culminating in the Final Leg into Summer Games Opening Ceremonies on Friday, June 5, at St. Michael’s College in Colchester."
