The Town of Richmond is seeking a qualified contractor to replace 80 feet of sewer service line.
Description of Project
Replace approximately 80’ feet of sewer service for the Richmond Free Library (201 Bridge St., Richmond, VT) from the cleanout near the building to the sewer main located in the southbound lane of Bridge St. with 4” PVC or 4” HDPE pipe.
The current pipe has sections where roots are intruding. It also has a section with a hump which creates a slight uphill section in the pipe and is blocking the flow in the pipe.
Provide quotes for the following:
· Pipe burst installation, keeping one lane of traffic open at all times on Bridge St.
- If you provide a quote for this option, please describe how the pitch of the pipe will be restored to a proper pitch to the main with eliminating the current hump in the line.
· Excavation of entire project, keeping one lane of traffic open at all times on Bridge St.
- Please indicate on bid if it will not be possible to one lane of traffic open at all times.
Contractor will provide and secure:
· Any necessary permits and Dig Safe for the project.
· All supplies including the pipe
· Traffic control
A SITE VISIT WILL TAKE PLACE ON FRIDAY, JUNE 26 at 1 PM

Information for Contractors Proposal Submission.
Contractors are required to submit a sealed and signed copy of their bid. There must be three copies of the bid. Electronic copies will not be accepted prior to the deadline but shall be submitted after bids are open.
The bid, whether mailed or hand delivered, must arrive at the TOWN no later than 1pmJuly 1, 2026. Sealed Bids must be addressed to Duncan Wardwell and labeled as “Richmond Free Library Sewer Line”.

Contractors mailing bid proposals should allow normal mail delivery time to ensure timely receipt of their proposals. Contractors assume the risk for the method of delivery chosen. The TOWN assumes no responsibility for delays caused by any delivery service. Late proposals will not be accepted and will be automatically disqualified from further consideration. All proposals and any accompanying documentation become the property of the TOWN and will not be returned.
Proposals will be opened and read aloud at 1:00pm on July 1, 2026 in the Town Center Meeting Room 3rd Floor and via Zoom.
