The Town of Richmond is working with Watershed Consulting to submit a State of Vermont Stormwater Permit renewal for the Mary Dr neighborhood. A key part of this permitting process involves developing an accurate delineation of the impervious cover of the neighborhood. Impervious surfaces include roads, rooftops, driveways, sidewalks, sheds, and other permanent structures. To map this data, Watershed Consulting will be flying a drone over the neighborhood on Friday September 18th in the early afternoon (between 2 and 3pm). The drone will be flown by a certified Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) pilot under FAA regulations and with FAA approval. Staff will wear high visibility vests and be on site for no more than 90 minutes.
The drone is generally quiet, but it may be heard especially during takeoff and landing. The drone flight is focused on collecting the images necessary for the permitting process so the community remains in compliance with State of Vermont stormwater regulations and is not focused on personal property or activities.
