Planned work for the week of June 22 - 26.

• Work will generally be 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Excavation and pipe installation on Tilden Ave. including the path from Tilden Ave. to Jericho Rd.
  • Construction vehicles will be using Millet St. and Baker St. for access.
• Excavation and pipe installation on Cochran Rd.
• The roadways may be reduced to one lane by flaggers at times.
• No full road closures of more than 5 minutes are expected.
• The work and work schedule are subject to change due to weather and other unexpected ocurrences.

Notes on disturbances to lawns, driveways, and mailboxes

• The work will stay within the Town Right of Way and will only be outside of the Right of Way where there is an established easement with the property owner.
• In many locations the Right of Way extends onto lawns and driveways.
• There will be disturbance to portions of lawns and driveways located within the right of way. In some cases, mailboxes will have to be removed.
• The disturbed lawns will be repaired with topsoil and grass seed at the conclusion of the project.
• Driveways will be restored to pre-project conditions at the conclusion of the project.
• Mailboxes may be returned to a different location during the project but will be returned to their pre-project locations at the conclusion of the project.
• The final restoration of lawns, driveways, and mailboxes will occur at the end of the project which will be later this summer.

General Project Information

This spring and summer the Town of Richmond is replacing waterlines on Tilden Ave., Bridge St. (from the bridge to the intersection with Cochran Rd.), and Cochran Rd. (from the intersection with Bridge St. to the cemetery). At their June 1, 2026 meeting, the Water and Sewer Commission added a replacement of the waterline on Huntington Rd. (from the intersection with Bridge St. to the Stone Corral) to the project. 

The work will start on Tilden Ave., and then move to Cochran Rd., and Bridge St.; and then to Huntington Rd. See the project schedule  for more details (note, the schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances). Work is not expected to start on Bridge St. until after school is out for the summer, which will help avoid working during the busy school day morning commute.

We will keep the public informed about the progress of the job and any expected traffic interruptions.
