Richmond Fourth of July Committee minutes

Attendees: Donna Niquette, Sue Glennon, Chris Jenkins, Rebecca Roose, Julie Wahlin, Tom Carpenter, Stefani Hartsfield

May 7, 2026

Sue Glennon called the meeting to order at 7:05

1. Approve minutes - all approved
2. Business Solicitation updates -
   1. Sue - P&P, Casella-2 more compost bins
   2. Tom - contacted many, some face to face. Called Polo Group,Schafers will do a food tent,
   3. Rebecca - Greensea will sponsor Misting Tent, BT Tree Service to reach out later, Richmond Market will do something, Sweet Simone - will donate, Richmond Community Kitchen-Silver Sponsorship, Birdseye - going to meet on Tuesday to talk about it, Northfield will do face painting & fun run sponsor
3. Select board ok’d sign in front of Town Hall with Venmo, etc.
4. Food Vendors - 8 confirmed
5. Coin drop update - 11 vests, need to get card with Venmo printed double-sided, need to put up signs that morning
6. Venmo/QR code update - $528 paying for 1 bouncy house,
7. Road sign updates - need to put up Parade signs by June 4, need to close road at 10am on the 4th.
8. Financials - review numbers. Rebecca will reach out to Duncan to ask about Dec. 2025 checks. We want to go to the Town Selectboard to have an estimated costs budgeted so we don’t have to go to them each time we need money.
9. Parade - need to get ribbons,
10. FireStation - want to park a utility truck near the clamshell to spray hoses into the river. The committee feels that there are too many safety issues and logistics.
11. No car show this year.
12. Bouncy House - Sue will call
13. Social Media and Richmond Times Ink article - need another article for a Sponsorship letter and Volunteer Signup
14. Tom came up with some rhymes that are very catchy. We should post on Socials.
