The Richmond Selectboard is seeking volunteers to join their neighbors on the following Boards, Commissions and Committees, beginning in June. Further information and the application can be found here:

Applications and letters of interest should be mailed to Volunteer Search, P.O. Box 285, Richmond, VT 05477, emailed to Town Manager Josh Arneson at jarneson@richmondvt.gov or placed in the drop box outside the Town Office by April 14, 2021. Applications will then be reviewed by the respective committees. The Selectboard will make appointments at their May 17, 2021 meeting for terms to begin in June.

Water & Sewer Commission letters are due June 2, 2021. Applications will be reviewed by the Water and Sewer Commission. The Selectboard will make appointments at their June 21 meeting for terms to begin in July.

Development Review Board (DRB) letters are due by March 31, 2021. Applications will be reviewed by the DRB. The Selectboard will make appointments at their April 19 meeting for terms to begin in May.

*Andrews Community Forest Committee – Meets on the 4th Monday of the month at 7pm; (ONE 3-year term) provides general goals, objectives and administrative details for the management of the parcel to the Selectboard.

*Conservation Commission – Meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm; (ONE 4-year term 2021-2025, TWO vacant terms to be filled, one running to 2022, the other running to 2024) Develop planning tools for local natural resources and working on proposals to utilize the conservation reserve fund.

*Development Review Board – Meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7pm.; (TWO 3-year terms, and TWO 1-year alternate positions). Conduct public hearings regarding most major land development and commercial projects and permit appeals.

*Parade & Fireworks Committee – Meets May – July; All interested person please apply.

*Planning Commission – Meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7pm; (ONE 4-year term) Work includes the major revision of zoning and subdivision bylaws.

*Recreation Committee – Meets on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7pm; (THREE 3-year terms, TWO 1-year alternate positions).

*Town Center and Library Building Committee: Meets on Thursdays in weeks which the Selectboard does not meet. There are a few seats available on this committee. All interested people please apply. This committee is focused on long term uses and capital projects for the Town Center and Library buildings.

*Trails Committee Meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7pm–; (SIX 3-year terms) Develop and manage the trail and path network in Richmond, including making connections to neighborhoods.

*Water & Sewer Commission– Meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at 6pm; (TWO 1-year terms) These positions are to be filled by people who are current customers of the Water and Sewer Department.

-Animal Control: 1 opening
-Energy Coordinator: 1 opening
-Inspector of Lumber, Shingles and Wood: 1 opening
-Richmond Rescue Board of Directors – Liaison /Representative: 1 opening
-Service Officer: 1 opening
-Town Fence Viewer: 2 openings
-Tree Warden: 1 opening
-Weigher of Coal: 2 opening
Two year terms for the following positions:
-Lake Iroquois Recreation Dist.: 1 opening
-Chittenden Solid Waste Dist.: 1 opening and 1 Alternate position
